The first phase of the "Selected Paintings from Xiyuanli" exhibition at Sun museum has been successfully concluded on December 8, 2024. Following the enthusiastic response of the first phase, the second phase "Selected Paintings from Xiyuanli" will be held on December 18, 2024. Opening day.
The second phase of "Xiyuanli Painting Selection" displays 66 works by 48 artists, covering a variety of art media such as oil colors, watercolors, pastels and markers. The exhibition period is from December 19, 2024 to February 16, 2025. Today, the themes of his works are diverse, including portraits, natural scenery, and street scenes full of Hong Kong cultural characteristics.
Artist Leung Ko-on's "My City" uses oil paint to paint a hyper-realistic busy Hong Kong street. At first glance, it seems to be a photographic work, but in fact, the artist used the depth of field effect of photography to present it through a brush. Artist Chen Chaolong's "New Pier under Lion Rock" uses oil paint to depict the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in a clear weather with the same color as the sea and sky. Artist Feng Jian examines Hong Kong's urban landscape from another angle - a small corner of the city. The entire painting of "Amaryllis" is filled with bamboo leaves. Behind the bamboo leaves is a dilapidated iron gate. The picture is lively and the mood is cold. Artist Tse Lok-rou's "Neon City" uses light, shadow and color to construct a unique picture. It uses watercolor to paint familiar Hong Kong street night scenes. The work is full of layers. Artist He Shaozhong interprets urban landscapes in an abstract style. His work "Impression of Xiyuanli No. 1" skillfully uses Western oil paints to create a traditional ink painting feeling. The foreground is the seaside, the middle ground is the street scene, and the background is the night. The combination creates a stunning picture. work. In addition to scenery, people are also an important element of urban landscapes. Artist Liao Jingmei's "Phantom 2" vividly depicts the person in the painting moving his head and hands with light colors, highlighting the natural beauty of the person in the painting.
In conjunction with the second phase of the exhibition, Sun museum will hold two art demonstration activities, hoping that participants can better understand the artist's concepts and techniques by watching the creative process. The museum invited artist Ma Quan to hold an oil painting demonstration on January 11, 2025, and artist Liu Yuqi to hold a watercolor demonstration on February 8, 2025. In addition, the museum will also hold a "New Year's Spring Workshop" on January 18, 2025, inviting calligraphy teacher Chen Mo to celebrate the Lunar New Year with the audience through traditional calligraphy, adding art to the festival atmosphere.
